Progress is measured through consistent data collection and regular clinical reviews. Families receive updates on skill development, behavior changes, and goal progression so improvements are clearly tracked and understood.
ABA therapy may be provided in a clinic setting, in the home, or through a combination of environments depending on your child’s needs and availability. Your clinical team will recommend the most appropriate setting.
ABA therapy is not a fixed timeline. Some children benefit from longer-term support, while others transition out as skills develop. Therapy duration is based on progress toward goals and is reviewed regularly with families.
Yes. Parent and caregiver involvement is an important part of ABA therapy. Families receive guidance, training, and ongoing communication so skills learned in therapy can be reinforced at home and in daily routines.
The number of recommended therapy hours varies based on your child’s age, strengths, needs, and clinical assessment. A BCBA determines appropriate hours after completing a comprehensive evaluation and discussing goals with your family.
In most cases, a formal autism diagnosis is required for insurance-funded ABA therapy. If your child has not yet received a diagnosis, our team can help guide you toward appropriate evaluation resources and explain next steps.
Getting started is simple. Once you contact compleatKiDZ, our team will guide you through each step, including intake, insurance verification, and scheduling an initial assessment. We work closely with families to make the process as smooth and supportive as possible.
Yes. Many children attend ABA therapy alongside school attendance. Your clinical team and school can work together to coordinate schedules that support consistency.
Therapy combines structured learning with fun, play-based activities geared to your child’s interests. Sessions focus on measurable goals and build skills through guided practice and reinforcement.
Families may have access to center-based therapy, in-home programs, or school-support services depending on region and needs. Programming is personalized to your child’s strengths and developmental goals.
Therapy is delivered by trained professionals, including:
- Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who design and supervise individualized programs
- Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who implement daily therapy goals under BCBA supervision
Earlier intervention often leads to greater gains. Starting therapy as soon as concerns arise (often around age 2 when possible) helps children build foundational skills during critical developmental windows.
ABA supports skill development in areas like functional communication, self-care routines, school readiness, and social interaction. It also teaches children safer alternative behaviors to reduce challenging behaviors.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a research-supported treatment approach used to help children with autism learn new skills and reduce behaviors that make learning harder. It uses structured teaching, positive reinforcement, and individualized strategies.
While early signs often appear before age 2, reliable diagnoses are commonly made between 18 and 30 months. Earlier engagement with screening and evaluation allows families to begin support sooner.
A comprehensive assessment typically includes caregiver interviews about developmental history, play-based observations, and standardized tools administered by qualified clinicians. These components help determine whether a child meets criteria for autism and guide next steps.
Caregivers may notice differences in social engagement, communication milestones, repetitive behaviors, or responses to sensory experiences. If you have concerns, your pediatrician can recommend developmental screening tools and refer you for a formal evaluation.
Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. It varies widely from child to child, so early identification and tailored supports help families navigate each child’s unique profile.
Autism is relatively common. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 1 in 31 children in the United States age 8 and younger are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Boys are four times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls. Autism rates are consistent across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups.1
The number of autism diagnoses has grown over the years. This is partly because people are more aware, doctors have better tools to diagnose, and the definition of autism has expanded. As a result, more children are being identified and getting the support they need!
